grindhouse is actually two movies: planet terror and deathproof. While I agree the former is brilliant, the latter felt below average to me. Couldn’t get rid of the feeling that Tarantino wanted to be Tarantino too hard. That he kept making decisions based on how we, the audence, will percieve the film, and say to ourselves: “that’s Tarantino!” Luckily his Inglourious Basterds is better by miles.
