Vsem so vsec RPG igre v kakrsnikoli obliki in nacinu, vsem, ki kaj pomenijo vsaj. Sam sem jih preigral ze kar nekaj, od slabih do dobrih, vendar vecinoma dobre. Zabavne so, vendar se vsi strinjajo, da imajo nekaj hudih pomankljivosti, oz. dve, ki si jih delijo vse. Ena je neprestano tekanje naokoli brez kakrsnegakoli dogajanja, samo tekanje ... druga je uporaba inventarja in ta je se hujsa, ker je ponavadi krivec za tekanjem.
In kaj je pravzaprav ta tezava z inventarjem, bi se lahko vprasali. V resnici je samo ena, da ni nikoli narejen tako, da bi delal z igralcem ampak, da dela proti le-temu. Inventar obstaja zato, da je igra bolj realisticna mapk tudi bolj nezabavna ... realisticna? Zakaj bi potrebovali nekaj kar naredi imaginativno fantazijsko igro bolj realisticno, ce jo naredu tudi manj zanimivo?
Seveda, razlog lezi v tem, da je zaradi tega igra tezja in tako daljsa, hkrati pa igra s tem dobi neka osnovna pravila. Vendar stojim za dejstvom, da bi lahko bilo vse skupaj lazje.
Obstaja veliko razlicnih nacino, kako narediti, da inventar sovrazi uporabnika. Osnovni je nacin uporabljen v Diablo 1, kjer je inventar preprost pravokotnik narejen iz kvadratkov, kamor potem dajemo predmete in ko njihova velikost zapolni vse skupaj je inventar poln; v Diablo 2 je stvar malo izblojsana z uporabo skrinje, ki jo puscamo doma. Potem v igrah baziranih na DnD imamo kombinacijo kvadratkov s tezo in tu je treba paziti tako na velikost predmetov kot na njihovo tezo, veliko bolje, a se vedno zelo omejeno. Vse skupaj se v vecini izboljsa z uporabo vec igralcev, ki si lahko razdelijo breme ali inventarjem z vec stranmi, kar da vec prostora. Podobno je z vrecami, ki mocno povecajo prostornino inventarja, vendar ne pomagajo veliko pri tezi.
Najboljsi inventar, kar sem jih kdaj videl, pa je v igri UltimaOnline. Sestavljen je bil iz preprostega nahrbtnika v katerega si potem metal predmete brez vsake urejenosti in brige na to kam so se postavili, vazna je bila edino teza. Vanj si lahko zmetal kolikor si hotel vrec in celo nahrbtnikov ter tako pridobil vsaj nekaj organizacije in pregleda nad vsem skupaj. Problem je bil edino, da so se predmeti lahko prekrivali in ce nisi bil pozoren, si se kmalu znasel pred velikim kupom neurejenosti, ampak to je v redu, je preprosto in ne zivcira vec kot dovolis.
Tako da, resno, zakaj nima vec odlicnih iger dobrih inventarjev, ki te ne silijo v tekanje naokoli za vsakim izpraznjenim prostorom.
